Facebook & Instagram vs SyncWith Google Sheets, Lookerfor Shopify (2026)
The Facebook & Instagram app from Meta aims to be a comprehensive solution for Shopify merchants looking to expand their presence and sales on Meta's platforms. It focuses on seamless product syncing, ad management, and in-app shopping experiences, targeting merchants of all sizes who want to leverage Facebook and Instagram for sales and marketing. Conversely, SyncWith Google Sheets, Looker targets merchants who heavily rely on data analysis and reporting for their business decisions. This app emphasizes the automatic export of Shopify data into Google Sheets and Looker Studio for custom report building and advanced analytics, catering specifically to data-driven merchants needing granular control over their sales, inventory, and marketing performance. Its core value proposition is eliminating manual data entry and providing actionable insights directly within Google's ecosystem. While both apps fall under the 'Selling online' category, their approaches and target audiences differ significantly. Facebook & Instagram prioritizes ease of use and direct sales enablement on Meta's platforms, offering basic shop insights and ad creation tools. SyncWith Google Sheets, Looker, in contrast, focuses on empowering merchants with deep analytical capabilities through custom reporting on sales, inventory, marketing ROI, and discount code usage within Google Sheets and Looker Studio. The user experience caters to merchants comfortable with data manipulation and analysis, rather than those primarily seeking a user-friendly sales channel extension.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily focused on growing their sales and brand presence on Facebook and Instagram with minimal technical overhead, the Facebook & Instagram app is the clear choice. Its seamless integration with Meta's platforms, automated product syncing, and ad creation tools make it ideal for quickly setting up and managing a social commerce strategy. However, merchants needing detailed analysis of their sales, inventory, and marketing performance, and who are comfortable working with Google Sheets and Looker Studio, should opt for SyncWith Google Sheets, Looker. This app provides the flexibility to build custom reports and gain deeper insights into their business data that the Facebook & Instagram app cannot offer.
Considering the limited number of reviews for SyncWith Google Sheets, Looker, potential users should carefully evaluate its features and support to ensure it meets their specific analytical needs. While it boasts a higher rating, the low review count suggests it may be a newer or niche offering. Merchants should also consider their technical expertise and data analysis capacity before committing to SyncWith Google Sheets, Looker, as it demands more hands-on configuration and data manipulation than the Facebook & Instagram app.
