Our Verdict
The choice between Fan Shipping and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync depends entirely on the merchant's priorities. If a merchant is primarily concerned with efficiently managing shipping labels and tracking for the specific carriers supported by Fan Shipping, particularly if they ship in bulk, Fan Shipping is the clear choice. However, if a merchant is struggling with PayPal holds and wants to improve their seller rating and access to funds, Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync is the better option. For merchants needing both robust shipping automation for specific carriers *and* PayPal protection, using both apps may be the best solution.
Common Questions
Does Fan Shipping integrate directly with PayPal?
No, Fan Shipping focuses on shipping label creation and tracking updates within Shopify and does not offer direct PayPal integration.
Does Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync create shipping labels?
No, Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync focuses solely on syncing existing tracking information from Shopify with PayPal. It does not handle shipping label creation.
If I use a carrier not listed in Fan Shipping, should I still consider it?
Likely not. Fan Shipping is built specifically for the listed carriers. If your primary carriers aren't supported, it won't provide much value. Proveway might still be useful to sync that carrier's tracking info with PayPal, if available in its 900+ courier list.
Which app is easier to use?
While both apps have 5-star ratings, Proveway's higher review count suggests it has a more established user base and potentially more readily available support resources. Ultimately ease of use would be subjective to the specific user's needs and existing shipping workflow.
Can I use both Fan Shipping and Proveway PayPal Tracking Sync together?
Yes, these apps address different parts of the fulfillment process and can be used in conjunction. Fan Shipping handles label creation and tracking for specific carriers, while Proveway ensures that tracking information is synced with PayPal to improve seller protection. Using both gives merchants comprehensive protection.
