FastThis ‑ Product Creator vs Magic Prompts: AI Prompt Kitfor Shopify (2026)
FastThis ‑ Product Creator and Magic Prompts: AI Prompt Kit are two Shopify apps targeting different aspects of store operations. FastThis focuses on streamlining and accelerating product creation, particularly for vintage shops. It aims to minimize errors through customizable workflows and composable fields, ensuring efficient inventory management. Conversely, Magic Prompts is geared towards optimizing the use of AI prompts within Shopify Magic and Sidekick, allowing merchants to save, organize, and reuse prompts for various tasks. Its value lies in reducing repetition and speeding up workflows by leveraging AI capabilities effectively. The key difference lies in their core functionalities: FastThis automates product listing creation, while Magic Prompts enhances the efficiency of AI-driven tasks within the Shopify ecosystem. While both fall under the broader 'Operations - Other' category, they cater to distinct needs. FastThis emphasizes structured product data input and custom workflows, while Magic Prompts focuses on prompt management for AI interactions. The "coming soon" feature of prompt discovery for Magic Prompts suggests an intent to build a community-driven prompt library, adding a collaborative dimension to its offering. Given the lack of initial user feedback for Magic Prompts, FastThis, though having a very small sample size, presents a more immediately appealing and established solution for merchants in need of streamlined product creation. The zero rating for Magic Prompts also presents a risk to potential customers. However, if merchants heavily rely on Shopify's AI tools, then Magic Prompts might offer significant productivity gains in the long run if it delivers on its promise.

Our Verdict
For vintage shops and merchants prioritizing efficient and error-free product listing creation, FastThis ‑ Product Creator is the better option, especially considering its existing (albeit limited) positive user feedback. Its specialized features for product information input and workflow customization address a specific need in a well-defined manner. However, if a merchant heavily relies on and seeks to optimize the use of Shopify Magic and Sidekick, Magic Prompts: AI Prompt Kit might be worth considering, *if* it delivers on its promise of shared prompts and easy prompt management. Currently, it's a less proven solution with no user reviews, representing a higher risk.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the merchant's primary pain point: product creation bottlenecks or inefficient AI prompt utilization. If product listing efficiency is the key concern, FastThis is the clear winner. If optimizing AI interactions is the goal, Magic Prompts could become valuable but carries a greater risk due to its lack of track record. Merchants should wait for user feedback and prompt examples before investing in Magic Prompts.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the descriptions, FastThis likely offers a more straightforward setup experience, especially for its target audience. Its 'intuitive user interface' and 'easy-to-follow workflows' suggest a focus on user-friendliness. Magic Prompts' ease of use will depend on the complexity of the AI prompts being managed.
Which app is more likely to save me time in the long run?
Both apps aim to save time, but in different areas. FastThis saves time by accelerating product creation and minimizing errors. Magic Prompts saves time by allowing you to reuse and organize prompts, reducing the need to retype them. The actual time saved will depend on how frequently you create products or use AI prompts.
Is Magic Prompts limited to only Magic & Sidekick?
Yes, the description specifies that Magic Prompts is designed for use with Shopify Magic and Sidekick. It's not intended as a general-purpose prompt manager.
What is the most significant risk of using Magic Prompts?
The most significant risk of using Magic Prompts is its lack of user reviews. There's no way to know how well it performs in real-world scenarios or how reliable it is. The 'coming soon' feature also introduces uncertainty about its future development and functionality.
Does FastThis support product variations or complex product structures?
The description of FastThis mentions 'customisable workflows' and 'composable fields,' which suggests it can handle product variations to some extent. However, there's no specific mention of support for highly complex product structures.
