FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed vs HTML Meta Keywords Builder EXfor Shopify (2026)
FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed and HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX are both Shopify apps in the 'Site optimization - Other' category, but they cater to very different SEO needs and offer vastly different user experiences. FavSEO positions itself as a comprehensive SEO solution, providing tools for title and meta description editing, bulk editing, keyword research, rank tracking, and page speed optimization. It aims to empower merchants to manage various aspects of their SEO strategy from a single platform. HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX, on the other hand, focuses solely on adding meta keywords to different page types, a tactic whose SEO value is debated in 2026. FavSEO's headline focuses on simplicity and power, appealing to a broad audience, while HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX's headline is very specific about its singular function. The disparity in user ratings and review counts reflects the different perceptions of these apps. FavSEO boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 14 reviews, suggesting high user satisfaction, while HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX suffers from a low 2.1/5 rating with only 4 reviews. This suggests that users are generally much happier with FavSEO's features and performance compared to HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX. The choice between the two apps depends heavily on a merchant's understanding of SEO best practices and their perceived need for meta keywords, a practice increasingly questioned by search engine optimization experts in 2026.

Our Verdict
In 2026, FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed is the clear winner for most Shopify merchants. Its comprehensive suite of SEO tools, high rating, and numerous positive reviews suggest a robust and effective app. FavSEO empowers users to take a data-driven approach to SEO, improving various aspects of their online presence, not just meta keywords.
HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX is only suitable for merchants who specifically want to add meta keywords despite the debated value of this practice in 2026. Given its low rating and focus on a potentially outdated SEO technique, it's difficult to recommend this app unless a merchant has a very specific and informed reason for wanting to use it.
Common Questions
Does HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX offer any tools beyond adding meta keywords?
Based on the description, HTML Meta Keywords Builder EX appears to solely focus on adding meta keywords to different page types (Homepage, Products page, Landing Pages).
Is adding meta keywords still an effective SEO strategy in 2026?
The effectiveness of meta keywords as an SEO strategy is highly debated in 2026. While some argue they can still provide minor benefits, most SEO experts believe search engines largely ignore them and focus on factors like content quality, user experience, and backlinks.

Yes, FavSEO includes features to check your store's page speed and provide recommendations for optimization.
Does FavSEO offer any keyword research tools?
Yes, FavSEO offers keyword finding and rank tracking features after connecting to Google Webmaster Tools (now likely called Google Search Console in 2026).
Which app is easier to use for a beginner with little SEO knowledge?
