FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed vs Ongoing ‑ AI SEO Optimizer Appfor Shopify (2026)
FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed and Ongoing ‑ AI SEO Optimizer App both target Shopify merchants seeking to improve their store's search engine optimization. FavSEO positions itself as a simple yet powerful solution, emphasizing ease of use with features like a Title/Meta Description Editor, Bulk Editor, and direct integration with Google Webmaster Tools for keyword discovery and rank tracking. It seems geared towards merchants who want hands-on control and a clear understanding of their SEO efforts. Ongoing, conversely, is an AI-powered solution suggesting it leans towards automation and efficiency, potentially requiring less manual effort from the merchant. The key difference lies in their approach. FavSEO offers tools for manual optimization and analysis, providing direct control over title tags, meta descriptions, and sitemap submissions. It also includes rank tracking and keyword finding. Ongoing, with its AI emphasis, likely automates many of these processes, potentially suggesting SEO improvements and implementing changes automatically. The rating and review counts also paint different pictures. FavSEO has a perfect 5-star rating but only 14 reviews, suggesting a newer or more niche app. Ongoing has a lower rating (4.3/5) but a significantly higher number of reviews (80), implying wider adoption and more diverse feedback.

Our Verdict
For merchants who prefer a hands-on approach and want to understand the specifics of their SEO strategy, FavSEO ‑ SEO & Page Speed is the better choice. Its direct integration with Google Webmaster Tools and manual editing tools provide control and insight. For merchants who prefer a more automated, hands-off approach and prioritize efficiency, Ongoing ‑ AI SEO Optimizer App is likely the better option. The AI-powered optimization may require less manual effort. However, the lower rating and absence of details make it a less certain choice. Given the available data, FavSEO is the stronger recommendation for merchants seeking direct control and understanding of their SEO.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for someone new to SEO?
FavSEO's focus on simplicity and direct tools like the Title/Meta Description Editor makes it likely easier for SEO beginners to understand and implement changes. Ongoing's AI-powered approach may simplify the process, but users might not understand the underlying reasons for the changes.
Which app is better for a large store with thousands of products?
FavSEO's Bulk Editor makes it potentially more suitable for managing the SEO of a large number of products, provided the merchant is comfortable with manual editing. However, if Ongoing's AI efficiently handles bulk optimization, it could be an equally viable option.
Which app offers better value for money?
Without pricing information, it's impossible to say definitively. However, consider the time saved versus the level of control desired. If the AI does the bulk optimization as well as a human, you can save labor costs but risk some control over the SEO. If you need the control you need FavSEO. Therefore the relative cost of labor/expertise and value placed on direct control is a key part of any cost/benefit analysis.
How does FavSEO find new keywords?
FavSEO connects to Google Webmaster Tools, enabling store owners to discover new keyword opportunities directly from Google's data.
Does Ongoing offer rank tracking?
The description of Ongoing ‑ AI SEO Optimizer App does not explicitly mention rank tracking, while FavSEO does. So you should assume Ongoing does not offer rank tracking.
