Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing a broad, no-code solution to customize various aspects of their store, including payments, delivery, and checkout in addition to discounts, and who need this capability without being on Shopify Plus, FC Functions Creator & Scripts might be the better choice. However, given the low review count, merchants should proceed with caution. If the primary goal is to drive sales through engaging discounts and promotions like BOGO offers, free gifts with purchase, and tiered discounts, and the visual element of progress bars is appealing, Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO is the more established and likely safer option, given the high number of positive reviews.
Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific needs and priorities of the merchant. If a merchant requires advanced checkout and delivery rules, FC Functions Creator & Scripts provides a better starting point. For simpler, promotions-focused needs, Kite provides a safer, more proven path. As review count is a key indicator of trust, Kite currently appears to be the less risky option.

At face value, FC Functions Creator & Scripts seems to offer a more generalized no-code environment, while Kite may only be for discounts and BOGO.
Does either app require a Shopify Plus plan?
FC Functions Creator & Scripts explicitly states it works for all Shopify plans, while Kite Discount, Free Gift, BOGO makes no such explicit statement. This doesn't mean it *requires* Plus, but its omission could be notable.
Which app is better for running holiday sales (like Black Friday/Cyber Monday)?
