FieldsRaven vs Product Extra Infofor Shopify (2026)
FieldsRaven and Product Extra Info both target Shopify merchants needing to extend their product information beyond standard fields. However, they cater to vastly different technical skill levels. FieldsRaven positions itself as a highly customizable solution for developers comfortable writing Liquid, HTML, and JavaScript, leveraging Shopify's Metafields API directly. It offers ultimate flexibility in creating customer journeys and theme personalization, but demands significant technical expertise. In contrast, Product Extra Info focuses on ease of use for non-technical users. It abstracts away the complexities of metafield management, providing a no-code interface to add custom fields to products dynamically. Its value proposition lies in simplicity and immediate results, without requiring any coding or metafield configuration knowledge. The core difference lies in control versus convenience. FieldsRaven grants developers granular control over metafields and storefront interactions, enabling sophisticated customization. Product Extra Info prioritizes user-friendliness and quick implementation, sacrificing some control for a streamlined experience. The choice between the two hinges on the merchant's technical proficiency and their need for advanced customization versus a simple, ready-to-use solution.

Our Verdict
For merchants with development resources and a need for highly customized customer experiences, FieldsRaven is the clear choice. Its ability to directly manipulate metafields and integrate with custom code offers unmatched flexibility. However, for merchants without coding skills or those seeking a quick and easy solution to add extra product information, Product Extra Info is the better option. Its no-code interface and dynamic functionality provide a straightforward way to enhance product pages without the complexities of metafield management. Given the lack of reviews for Product Extra Info, cautious testing is advised before full deployment. The high rating, albeit with few reviews, suggests FieldsRaven satisfies its target niche well.
