FieldsRaven vs Purchase Optionsfor Shopify (2026)
FieldsRaven and Purchase Options represent drastically different approaches to customizing a Shopify store, despite both technically falling under the 'Metafields' category on the Shopify App Store. FieldsRaven aims to provide developers and advanced merchants with granular control over metafields through direct code manipulation (Liquid, HTML, JS) via the Shopify app proxy. This allows for highly customized customer journeys and theme personalization. Purchase Options, conversely, offers a simpler, more focused solution: allowing merchants to easily add and manage custom fonts within their Horizon (and similar) themed stores. The target audience for Purchase Options is clearly those using specific themes and seeking ease of use when it comes to font customization. FieldsRaven's use of metafields allows for potentially more complex modifications but relies on coding knowledge, while Purchase Options offers an intuitive user experience for a narrower purpose.

Our Verdict
The choice between FieldsRaven and Purchase Options depends entirely on a merchant's technical skills and customization needs. If a merchant possesses coding skills and requires flexible control over metafields to create advanced customer journeys and theme personalization, FieldsRaven is the clear choice, despite its limited reviews. However, if a merchant is simply seeking an easy way to add custom fonts to their Horizon or similar theme without needing to code, Purchase Options is the more suitable option, regardless of its lack of reviews. Without reviews for Purchase Options it is difficult to establish the reliability and support of the app.
