FieldsRaven vs SmartDPP: Digital Passportsfor Shopify (2026)
FieldsRaven and SmartDPP: Digital Passports both aim to leverage metafields in Shopify, but they approach the task with vastly different feature sets and target audiences. FieldsRaven positions itself as a developer-friendly tool for creating dynamic customer journeys and theme personalization using Liquid, HTML, and JavaScript to manipulate metafields directly from the storefront. It empowers merchants with coding knowledge to build highly customized solutions. In contrast, SmartDPP: Digital Passports, based on the limited information available, appears to be focused on digital passports (a feature and use case not detailed in its description), rather than general metafield manipulation. The complete lack of ratings and reviews raises concerns about its maturity and reliability. FieldsRaven's strength lies in its flexibility and control, while SmartDPP's positioning is unclear based on the limited data.

Our Verdict
Given the available information, FieldsRaven is the more reliable and well-defined choice for merchants comfortable with coding and seeking deep customization of their storefront through metafield manipulation. It empowers developers to create unique customer experiences. SmartDPP: Digital Passports, due to its lack of reviews and limited description, presents a higher risk. Unless a merchant specifically needs a digital passport solution (the exact implementation of which is unknown) and is willing to be an early adopter, FieldsRaven is the safer and more versatile option. If SmartDPP adds reviews and clarifies it's feature-set, the verdict may change.
