File Uploads by UploadKit vs Gang Sheet Builderfor Shopify (2026)
File Uploads by UploadKit and Gang Sheet Builder are both Shopify apps in the 'Custom products' and 'Custom file upload' categories, but cater to very different merchant needs. UploadKit focuses on general file uploads for personalized products, allowing customers to upload files from various sources, preview and edit them, and enabling merchants to automatically sync these files to Google Drive. This app positions itself as a versatile solution for a wide range of custom product scenarios. Gang Sheet Builder, on the other hand, specializes in DTF (Direct to Film) printing. It automatically nests customer-uploaded graphics onto sheets for printing, supplemented by design libraries. The app aims to streamline the gang sheet creation process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for printers and sellers of DTF prints. While both apps handle file uploads, Gang Sheet Builder offers specialized features like background removal, transparent pixel trimming, and output in ready-to-print PNG or PDF formats tailored for printing machines.

Our Verdict
For merchants selling generic custom products requiring diverse file upload options and editing capabilities, File Uploads by UploadKit is likely the better choice. Its broad compatibility with upload sources and editing tools gives customers greater flexibility. The Google Drive integration further simplifies order management.
However, if the merchant specializes in DTF printing, Gang Sheet Builder is the superior option. Its specialized features for creating gang sheets, automatic nesting, and ready-to-print file generation streamline the printing process. The design libraries also add value for customers and inspire orders. Gang Sheet Builder's focus on DTF printing makes it a more efficient and tailored solution for that specific niche.
