Fintouch:Omni Growth Engine vs Gather: Refer a Friendfor Shopify (2026)
Fintouch:Omni Growth Engine and Gather: Refer a Friend both aim to boost sales for Shopify merchants, but they employ drastically different strategies. Fintouch positions itself as an AI-powered omnichannel promotion engine, offering features like AI-driven personalized offers, 500+ engaging templates, and channel-specific campaigns for platforms like Facebook, Google, and TikTok. Its target audience appears to be merchants looking for comprehensive promotional tools that integrate across various channels, including email and SMS. Gather, in contrast, focuses solely on leveraging existing customers through referral programs. It emphasizes automation and personalization in customer-to-customer referrals, aiming to create a high-ROAS acquisition channel by incentivizing customers to refer new business. The core difference lies in their approach to customer acquisition and retention. Fintouch seeks to attract new customers and re-engage existing ones using diverse promotional campaigns across multiple channels, guided by AI. Gather concentrates on amplifying the impact of satisfied customers by turning them into brand advocates. While Fintouch requires the merchant to design and manage campaigns (with assistance from a growth expert), Gather automates the referral process after initial setup. Gather’s strength lies in tapping into the trust and influence existing customers wield, while Fintouch’s strength is its ability to create dynamic, AI-driven promotions across a wide range of channels.

Our Verdict
For merchants needing a broad range of promotional tools and are comfortable with a more hands-on approach (or value dedicated support), Fintouch:Omni Growth Engine might seem appealing, but the lack of reviews is a major red flag. The AI-powered features and extensive template library could be valuable if proven in practice. However, the absence of any social proof makes it a risky choice.
Gather: Refer a Friend, on the other hand, is a safer bet for merchants specifically looking to implement or improve their referral program. Its perfect rating and 14 reviews suggest positive user experiences. If a merchant's primary goal is to leverage the power of word-of-mouth marketing through existing customers, Gather is the clearly superior option. The presence of features like tiered rewards and integration with Klaviyo further solidifies its position as a strong contender for referral marketing needs. Until Fintouch gains some positive traction and reviews, Gather is the more reliable choice.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Gather: Refer a Friend likely offers a simpler user experience due to its focus on referral marketing automation. Fintouch:Omni Growth Engine, with its broader feature set and AI components, may require a steeper learning curve, although they provide dedicated support.
Which app is better for acquiring new customers?
Both apps aim to acquire new customers, but through different means. Fintouch targets new customers with promotions across multiple channels, while Gather acquires customers through existing customer referrals. The better option depends on the merchant's overall marketing strategy and the effectiveness of their current referral program.
Which app offers more customization?
Fintouch potentially offers more customization in terms of promotional campaign design, with 500+ templates and channel-specific options. Gather provides customization in referral reward structures and email design, focusing on personalization within the referral context.
Which app is a better long-term investment?
Gather: Refer a Friend seems a more reliable long-term investment given its existing positive reviews. A successful referral program can create a sustainable acquisition channel. The long-term value of Fintouch hinges on its AI effectiveness and the merchant's ability to consistently create engaging promotions. Its current lack of reviews makes it a riskier investment.
Does Gather offer support for creating email marketing campaigns?
Gather allows you to design emails with a drag-and-drop editor, so they do. However, its primary focus is referral-specific emails, not general email marketing campaigns.
