Fitting Room vs Poplar AR/3D product viewerfor Shopify (2026)
In 2026, merchants choosing between Fitting Room and Poplar AR/3D product viewer for their Shopify stores face a clear initial difference in user validation. Fitting Room presents itself as a streamlined virtual try-on solution with a perfect 5/5 rating based on 3 reviews, focusing on immediate usability and boosting shopper confidence through a photo upload-based fitting experience. Its key selling point is simplicity: no complex setup, no account requirements, and direct integration into product pages. This positions Fitting Room towards merchants prioritizing ease of use and quick implementation of a virtual try-on feature. Poplar AR/3D product viewer, on the other hand, lacks any reviews or ratings at the time of this data snapshot, suggesting it is either very new to the market or has not yet garnered user traction. The absence of reviews for Poplar AR/3D product viewer makes a direct feature-by-feature comparison challenging. While both apps fall under the 3D/AR/VR category, Fitting Room explicitly concentrates on virtual clothing try-on using customer-uploaded photos. Given Poplar's title, it likely aims to provide a more general AR/3D product viewing capability, potentially suitable for a broader range of product types beyond apparel. Merchants considering Poplar AR/3D product viewer would be taking on more risk and require further investigation to determine its specific functionalities, integration complexities, and user-friendliness, particularly in contrast to Fitting Room's claims of seamless integration.

Our Verdict
For apparel merchants specifically seeking a simple, quick-to-implement virtual try-on solution in 2026, Fitting Room appears to be the more immediately viable choice based on the available data. Its focus on seamless integration and ease of use makes it attractive for businesses wanting to enhance shopper confidence without complex configurations.
However, for merchants with diverse product types or a specific need for general AR/3D product viewing capabilities, Poplar AR/3D product viewer *could* be a relevant option. However, the lack of reviews necessitates thorough due diligence, including contacting the developer for a demo and understanding the setup process, integration needs, and potential costs, before committing. Until Poplar AR/3D product viewer accumulates reviews and provides more concrete information, Fitting Room is the safer bet for apparel retailers needing a virtual try-on solution.
