Fitting Room vs Specfit ‑ Eyewear Live Try‑Onfor Shopify (2026)
Fitting Room and Specfit ‑ Eyewear Live Try‑On are both Shopify apps in the 3D/AR/VR category aimed at enhancing the shopping experience through virtual try-on capabilities. However, they cater to different product categories and offer distinct approaches. Fitting Room focuses on general clothing and emphasizes simplicity and ease of use. It's positioned as a plug-and-play solution with no merchant or customer account setup required. In contrast, Specfit is specifically designed for eyewear and leverages AI-powered face detection for a more interactive and (presumably) accurate fitting experience. While Fitting Room boasts a perfect rating (5/5) based on a small number of reviews (3), Specfit currently has no reviews and a rating of 0/5. This suggests that Fitting Room has early positive feedback, but both apps have very little social proof. Fitting Room offers a direct photo upload method, whereas Specfit highlights 'Real-Time Virtual Try-On', likely using a live camera feed. This fundamental difference in approach impacts the user experience and the required technology. The main differentiating aspect lies in the product focus. Fitting Room targets apparel merchants with a simplified approach, whereas Specfit targets eyewear merchants wanting AI integration for a live experience.

Our Verdict
For general apparel merchants seeking a simple, easy-to-integrate virtual try-on solution without the complexities of AI, Fitting Room appears to be the more suitable choice, particularly given its initial positive feedback. However, the limited number of reviews means it's still important to test its functionality thoroughly.
Eyewear stores specifically looking for AI-powered face detection and a real-time interactive try-on experience will find Specfit ‑ Eyewear Live Try‑On more appealing, although the lack of reviews and zero rating is a significant concern. Merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly test the app's accuracy and performance before relying on it for customer engagement. The potential benefits of AI-driven accuracy must be weighed against the current lack of social proof.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Fitting Room appears to be significantly easier to set up, requiring only the addition of an app block. Specfit, leveraging AI, likely involves more complex configuration and product integration.
Which app offers a more 'accurate' try-on experience?
While Fitting Room offers basic visual feedback, Specfit claims greater accuracy due to its AI-powered face detection. However, without reviews, it's impossible to verify the accuracy of Specfit in practice.
Which app is more suitable for a clothing store?
Fitting Room is explicitly designed for clothing stores, whereas Specfit is specifically tailored for eyewear.
Which app is better for increasing customer confidence?
Both apps aim to increase customer confidence, but Specfit's AI-powered approach suggests a potentially more realistic virtual try-on, which could lead to higher confidence, assuming it functions as described. However, Fitting Room's current rating indicates that some users already find value in its simpler approach.
Is one app more likely to increase sales than the other?
It's difficult to say definitively. Both apps intend to improve engagement and sales. Specfit's potentially more accurate try-on experience might lead to higher conversion rates for eyewear, but the absence of reviews makes it speculative. Fitting Room's ease of use could encourage more shoppers to try on items virtually.
