Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants heavily invested in Shopify Flow and needing custom integrations with external services, APIs, and AI text generation, Flow Companion offers powerful extensibility. Its flexibility makes it suitable for those with technical proficiency. However, for merchants looking to customize their checkout experience after the deprecation of Scripts, or those seeking an easier, no-code solution for creating discount, payment, and shipping functions, SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is the better choice. The AI-powered function generation and Script migration tool make it a more accessible option for a wider range of merchants, particularly those without coding expertise.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for a non-technical merchant?
SupaEasy: AI Functions creator is designed for non-technical merchants with its AI assistant and no-code approach to function generation. Flow Companion is more technical and benefits from API and GraphQL familiarity.

Flow Companion primarily extends workflow capabilities and can indirectly affect checkout by triggering relevant actions. SupaEasy directly creates functions to customize discounts, payments, shipping & validation.
Does SupaEasy require Shopify Plus?
No, SupaEasy works with all Shopify plans, including non-Shopify Plus stores. One of its stated aims is to help all merchant types transition from Scripts, especially with migration
Which app is better for integrating with external services like CRM or email marketing platforms?
Flow Companion offers more direct integration capabilities with external services through its HTTP request and GraphQL features. SupaEasy's integrations are implicitly via checkout functions that interact with payment/shipping
Why does Flow Companion have so few reviews?
The app could be newer or target a niche audience of Shopify merchants already heavily invested in Flow. A smaller, highly targeted audience can still result in a 5-star rating, however higher review counts are typically preferred for social proof and confidence.
