Fokkio: Geo Redirect & Block vs Geolocation & Markets—Selectyfor Shopify (2026)
Fokkio: Geo Redirect & Block and Geolocation & Markets—Selecty both address the need for geolocation-based customization on Shopify stores, but they differ significantly in their execution and target audience. Fokkio focuses on basic redirection and blocking functionalities, coupled with user distribution reporting. Its integration with Shopify Markets is mentioned, but the feature set appears less comprehensive than Selecty's. Selecty, on the other hand, is heavily focused on enhancing the Shopify Markets and Global-e Managed Markets experience by providing currency, language, and country selectors, along with sophisticated redirection and market recommendation features. Selecty positions itself as a tool to significantly boost global sales and attract international customers. It emphasizes ease of customer navigation and personalization through features like automatic browser language redirection and manual market switching. Fokkio's value proposition centers more around controlled access and insights into user distribution by country. The considerable difference in user reviews and ratings further highlights the contrasting user experiences and perceived value of each app.

Our Verdict
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty appears to be the superior choice for merchants actively using or planning to heavily utilize Shopify Markets and/or Global-e. Its comprehensive suite of features geared toward international sales and enhanced customer personalization provides a more robust solution. The high rating and substantial number of reviews suggest a positive user experience and reliable performance.
Fokkio: Geo Redirect & Block might be suitable for merchants with very basic geo-redirection or blocking needs and limited resources. However, the lack of reviews and the relatively simplistic feature set make it a riskier choice compared to Selecty, unless very specific, minimal requirements are met.
