Formify: custom checkout forms vs Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popupsfor Shopify (2026)
Formify and Trustoo Pop ups, Email Popups both boast a perfect 5/5 rating, but cater to very different needs within the Shopify ecosystem. Formify is laser-focused on customizing the checkout experience through bespoke forms, allowing merchants to gather specific information and personalize the customer journey at the most crucial point of sale. It emphasizes ease of use with its drag-and-drop interface, targeting merchants who need to collect tailored data within the checkout flow without requiring coding expertise. Trustoo, on the other hand, is a comprehensive marketing platform centred around growing email lists and automating email marketing campaigns. Trustoo provides tools for capturing leads through popups, running email marketing campaigns, and automating various customer communications. The sheer volume of reviews (7110 vs. Formify's 5) suggests it's a more established and widely used solution. While both apps fall under the 'Notifications' category, their implementation differs significantly. Formify uses custom forms to augment data collection during checkout, whereas Trustoo leverages notifications within email marketing flows. The 'Notifications' category linkage seems tenuous for Formify, highlighting a potential issue with category classification.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking granular control over their checkout process and a means to collect specific customer data during purchase, Formify is the clear choice. It's ideal for businesses with unique information requirements or those aiming to personalize the checkout experience. However, given the extremely limited number of reviews, merchants should proceed with caution and thoroughly investigate the app's reliability. Trustoo, on the other hand, is a much safer bet for businesses focused on growing their email list, automating email marketing, and driving sales through popups. Its substantial user base and 24/7 support indicate a more mature and reliable platform.
Ultimately, the decision hinges on the merchant's core objectives. If checkout customization is paramount, Formify is worth exploring (with caution). If email marketing and lead generation are priorities, Trustoo offers a more robust and established solution. The very low review count for Formify should be a major consideration for any merchant choosing between these two apps.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use for non-technical users?
Both apps claim to be easy to use and require no coding. However, Formify's drag-and-drop interface for form creation is likely simpler for merchants primarily focused on modifying checkout fields. Trustoo involves more setup for email campaigns and automation, potentially requiring a slightly steeper learning curve, though still described as "easy setup".
Which app is better for growing my email list?
Trustoo is explicitly designed for email list growth with features like popups, signup forms, exit-intent triggers, and spin-the-wheel games. Formify, by contrast, doesn't directly address email list growth, focusing instead on gathering data within the checkout flow.
Can Formify integrate with my existing email marketing platform?
The description for Formify doesn't mention direct integrations with email marketing platforms. While the data collected *could* potentially be exported and used in other platforms, it's not a core feature. Trustoo explicitly states its subscribers sync to Shopify and works with various marketing apps like Klaviyo and Mailchimp.
Which app has better customer support?
Trustoo offers 24/7 support via chat or email, which suggests a more comprehensive support system. Formify provides multichannel support including in-app chat, website resources, and social media engagement, but doesn't specify 24/7 availability. Trustoo's support is likely more responsive and readily available.
Is Formify risky to use considering it only has 5 reviews?
Yes, the extremely low number of reviews for Formify is a significant risk factor. It's impossible to accurately assess the app's reliability, stability, or long-term support based on such limited feedback. Merchants should thoroughly research the developer, contact existing users (if possible), and closely monitor the app's performance after installation to mitigate this risk.
