Our Verdict
If you're facing a broad spectrum of fraud issues, want granular control over your fraud prevention measures, and appreciate automated workflows, Fraud Falcon - Block & Prevent is likely the better choice. The setup wizard and customizable rules provide flexibility to tailor fraud prevention to your specific needs. However, if your primary concern is high return-to-origin (RTO) rates associated with Cash on Delivery (COD) orders, and you need a simple, direct solution, RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD is the more targeted option. It addresses a specific problem directly and offers a quick solution to improve the reliability of COD transactions. Given the lack of user reviews for RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD, it would be prudent to thoroughly test its functionality and support before committing to it long-term.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD is likely easier to set up due to its single focus on phone verification, while Fraud Falcon's setup wizard and customizable rules may require more time and effort but offer more comprehensive protection.
Does Fraud Falcon - Block & Prevent verify phone numbers?
Fraud Falcon - Block & Prevent does not directly verify phone numbers using OTP. It might block orders based on risk associated with phone numbers if they are linked to disposable emails or other suspicious activities, but its main focus is not phone number verification.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Yes, it is technically possible to use both apps together. RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD can pre-screen COD orders by verifying phone numbers, and then Fraud Falcon - Block & Prevent can perform additional fraud checks on all orders (including those verified by RTOx Phone Verify & Limit COD). However, this may create a redundant verification step, and it's important to ensure they don't conflict.
Which app is more cost-effective?
Pricing information is not provided for either app, so a direct comparison of cost-effectiveness is not possible. Merchants should evaluate the pricing plans of both apps in relation to their specific needs and the potential savings from reduced fraud or RTO.
Which app offers a free trial or demo?
The app descriptions do not mention whether either app offers a free trial or demo. Merchants should check the app listings on the Shopify App Store for details on free trial periods or demo availability.
