Fraud Falcon ‑ Block & Prevent vs Verdivo ‑ Chargeback Managerfor Shopify (2026)
Fraud Falcon - Block & Prevent and Verdivo - Chargeback Manager both aim to help Shopify merchants combat fraud, but they take fundamentally different approaches. Fraud Falcon focuses on *preventing* fraudulent orders by allowing merchants to build custom rules that automatically block or flag suspicious transactions based on various criteria like risk score, email type, and IP address. Verdivo, on the other hand, focuses on *managing* chargebacks after they've occurred, automating the response process, and attempting to recover lost revenue. Fraud Falcon empowers merchants to proactively control their fraud prevention strategy. It's ideal for those who want to customize their defenses and have a good understanding of the types of fraud their store is likely to encounter. Verdivo is suited for merchants who prefer a more hands-off approach to chargeback management, relying on AI and automation to handle disputes. While both apps aim to minimize financial losses due to fraud, they operate at different points in the order lifecycle: before fulfillment (Fraud Falcon) and after a chargeback is initiated (Verdivo).

Our Verdict
For merchants experiencing high volumes of fraudulent orders *before* fulfillment and wanting a customizable solution to block suspicious activity, Fraud Falcon is the better choice. Its rule-based system allows for fine-grained control over fraud prevention. However, merchants who are overwhelmed by chargeback disputes and want a hands-off solution to automate the response process and potentially recover lost revenue should opt for Verdivo. Verdivo is particularly useful for merchants already using Verifi RDR and Ethoca services.
The choice between the two also depends on the merchant's operational priorities. If the focus is on reducing order fulfillment costs associated with fraudulent orders, Fraud Falcon is the better fit. If the focus is on recovering revenue already lost to chargebacks and minimizing the time spent on dispute resolution, Verdivo is the stronger option.
