FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification vs OTP ‑ CoD Order Verificationfor Shopify (2026)
FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification and OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification both aim to reduce fraud and non-serious buyers on Shopify stores by implementing SMS verification. However, they differ significantly in their approach and target audience. FraudLabs Pro focuses solely on SMS verification at the view-cart page to authenticate the buyer's identity and prevent fraudulent phone number usage. It positions itself as a basic fraud prevention tool by placing a checkpoint on the view-cart page to check whether or not a buyer is serious and also authenticates the buyer's identity. Meanwhile, OTP - CoD Order Verification offers a broader solution with multiple verification channels (WhatsApp, SMS, and Email) and targets specifically Cash on Delivery (CoD) orders to reduce fake orders and Return to Origin (RTO). It aims to lower fraud and increase buyer confidence. The key difference lies in their scope and features. OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification provides instant order notifications, order status updates, and one-tap order confirmation within WhatsApp, catering to a wider range of customer communication preferences. It seems well suited to businesses in regions where WhatsApp is a primary communication channel (e.g., India, Pakistan, Philippines, Egypt). FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification, on the other hand, offers a singular focus on SMS verification at the cart page, potentially being simpler for merchants only wanting this specific type of verification. Considering their public ratings and number of reviews, OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification is the stronger choice.

Our Verdict
OTP - CoD Order Verification is the better choice for Shopify merchants, especially those dealing with a high volume of Cash on Delivery orders. Its strong rating, focus on reducing RTO, multiple verification channels, and additional features like order notifications offer a more comprehensive solution. FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification might be suitable for merchants seeking only basic SMS verification at the view-cart page, but its low rating and lack of features compared to its competitor suggests that is not a good choice.
For merchants operating in regions like India, Pakistan, Philippines, or Egypt where WhatsApp is a preferred method of communication, OTP ‑ CoD Order Verification provides an even greater advantage, as it leverages WhatsApp for both verification and order updates. Choosing OTP - CoD Order Verification will give merchants a more seamless and effective fraud prevention and customer communication system.
