FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification vs Subunofor Shopify (2026)
FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification and Subuno are both Shopify apps designed to combat fraud, but they approach the problem from distinctly different angles and cater to different merchant needs. FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification focuses on verifying the buyer's phone number using SMS-based one-time passcodes (OTPs) at the cart page, aiming to filter out unserious buyers and prevent phone number spoofing. Subuno, on the other hand, is a comprehensive rules-based fraud prevention platform that automates order screening, leveraging advanced data analytics and integrated third-party tools to flag, hold, or cancel suspicious orders. The core difference lies in their methodology and scope. FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification offers a single, focused verification method, while Subuno provides a customizable and automated system with multiple fraud checks and manual review tools. This makes FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification potentially easier to implement for merchants seeking a simple phone number verification solution. Subuno, however, offers more robust protection and is suited for merchants needing comprehensive fraud management with advanced capabilities. The current rating and review count significantly favor Subuno, indicating stronger user satisfaction and adoption.

Our Verdict
Subuno is the stronger choice for most Shopify merchants seeking comprehensive fraud protection in 2026. Its rules-based automation, advanced data analytics, and integrated third-party tools provide a more robust and customizable solution than FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification. The significantly higher rating and review count for Subuno further support its superiority.
However, FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification might be suitable for very small businesses or merchants who primarily need to verify phone numbers and are comfortable with a basic, less comprehensive approach. It could also serve as a supplementary layer of protection alongside other fraud prevention measures. Ultimately, the decision depends on the merchant's specific needs, technical expertise, and budget.
