FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification vs Yofifor Shopify (2026)
FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification and Yofi both aim to combat fraud on Shopify stores, but they take significantly different approaches. FraudLabs Pro focuses on verifying buyer identity through SMS verification *before* checkout, essentially creating a hurdle for potentially fraudulent buyers at the cart stage. It's positioned as a simple way to filter out non-serious buyers and reduce payment fraud by ensuring phone number ownership. Its primary strength is its simplicity and direct approach to phone number verification, potentially suitable for merchants primarily concerned about basic phone number spoofing. Yofi, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive solution focused on return abuse and fraud *after* the sale. It uses advanced AI detection and telemetry to analyze customer behavior and identify patterns indicative of fraud, such as fake tracking or 'Did Not Arrive' schemes. Yofi is positioned as a tool to empower CX representatives with risk scores and automate return policies, targeting merchants struggling with significant return fraud and policy abuse. It's designed for merchants who need more sophisticated fraud detection and prevention beyond basic identity verification.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily concerned with basic phone number spoofing and cart abandonment issues, FraudLabs Pro SMS Verification might offer a simple, albeit potentially disruptive, solution. However, the extremely low rating and limited reviews should raise serious concerns.
Yofi appears to be a more robust and potentially less intrusive solution for merchants struggling with significant return fraud and policy abuse. Its AI-driven approach and focus on empowering CX representatives make it a better fit for larger businesses with complex return policies and sophisticated fraudsters. Given the limited data, proceed with caution. More reviews would be helpful for both apps.
