FreeDrop vs SweepWidget Giveaways Contestsfor Shopify (2026)
FreeDrop and SweepWidget Giveaways Contests both aim to help Shopify merchants increase conversions and grow their customer base through gamification and contests. However, they approach this goal with different features and target slightly different merchant needs. FreeDrop focuses on embedding game-like widgets directly into the Shopify store to collect user information in exchange for a chance to win discounts. It emphasizes on-site engagement and data acquisition through gamified experiences. SweepWidget Giveaways Contests offers a broader approach with viral giveaways across multiple social media platforms, integrating with over 30+ platforms and 20+ email providers. It provides a wider range of contest types including purchase-based entries, raffles, sweepstakes, and photo/video contests. While FreeDrop prioritizes the acquisition of emails and phone numbers through gamification, SweepWidget focuses on overall brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation across various marketing channels. SweepWidget also boasts enterprise-level anti-cheating tools, indicating a focus on larger-scale, more sophisticated contests.

Our Verdict
For merchants primarily interested in collecting email addresses and phone numbers through engaging on-site games, FreeDrop offers a focused solution. The automated embedding and analytics focused on promo participation makes it a quick and easy way to try gamified lead capture. However, the very limited number of reviews should be concerning.
SweepWidget Giveaways Contests is a better choice for merchants seeking broader viral growth, increased social media engagement, and a wider range of contest options. Its integrations, anti-cheating tools, and focus on different contest types makes it suitable for larger businesses running more sophisticated campaigns. The slightly lower rating with higher review count may be a more representative score.
