FreshBooks Link by CarryTheOne vs Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
FreshBooks Link by CarryTheOne and Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator occupy different niches within the Shopify Finances and Taxes app categories. FreshBooks Link focuses on integrating Shopify with FreshBooks accounting software. Its primary value proposition is seamless data transfer of orders, POS sales, customers, payments, and fees into FreshBooks, especially for merchants managing multiple stores. It emphasizes comprehensive tax support for various regions. In contrast, Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator concentrates on creating professional PDF invoices, lacking the accounting software integration that defines FreshBooks Link. The key difference lies in the core functionality: accounting integration vs. invoice generation. FreshBooks Link is designed for merchants already using or planning to use FreshBooks and need automated data synchronization. Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is for merchants who need customizable, professional PDF invoices directly within Shopify, without necessarily requiring FreshBooks integration. The stark difference in review volume and ratings strongly suggests Oxilayer has wider adoption and satisfaction, but this doesn't negate the potential usefulness of FreshBooks Link for its specific integration purpose.

Our Verdict
If you're a Shopify merchant using FreshBooks, FreshBooks Link is the clear choice, especially if you operate multiple stores and require robust tax handling. Its purpose is to automate accounting workflows by syncing Shopify data with FreshBooks. However, its low rating and review count should prompt careful investigation.
If you only need a way to create professional-looking PDF invoices, and don't require FreshBooks integration, Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is the stronger option based on its significantly higher rating and review volume. Its focus on a single task likely makes it easier to use and provides a more straightforward solution for invoice generation.
