FT GeoRedirect vs Geolocation & Markets—Selectyfor Shopify (2026)
FT GeoRedirect and Geolocation & Markets—Selecty both target geolocation functionality for Shopify merchants in 2026, but they cater to distinctly different needs and levels of business maturity. FT GeoRedirect focuses on basic redirection or blocking of visitors based solely on their country, featuring precise geolocation detection and URL redirection capabilities. It appears to be a simple, direct solution aimed at merchants needing fundamental geo-targeting capabilities. The absence of user reviews makes it difficult to gauge its real-world performance. Geolocation & Markets—Selecty, on the other hand, provides a comprehensive suite of features centered on managing global sales and Shopify Markets. It supports currency, language, and country selectors, along with market recommendations and automatic redirection features. Selecty aims to optimize the shopping experience for international customers, increasing global sales via geolocation.

Our Verdict
Given the available information, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the superior choice for merchants actively engaged in international sales through Shopify Markets or Global-e. Its comprehensive feature set, high rating, and numerous reviews indicate a well-established and reliable solution. FT GeoRedirect, with no reviews and a focus on basic redirection, may be suitable for extremely simple use cases or merchants willing to take a risk on an untested app. However, the lack of validation and limited feature set make it a less compelling option compared to Selecty, especially for businesses focused on global expansion. For merchants beginning to explore international sales, Selecty will be more beneficial.
