Gather: Refer a Friend vs LM Discount Dazzlefor Shopify (2026)
Gather: Refer a Friend and LM Discount Dazzle both aim to enhance sales through promotions but adopt fundamentally different approaches. Gather focuses on leveraging existing customers to acquire new ones through a referral program, emphasizing automation, personalization, and features like tiered rewards and customizable email designs. In contrast, LM Discount Dazzle centers around highlighting and managing existing discounts more effectively for shoppers, allowing merchants to customize discount labels and manage discounts in bulk. Therefore, one app is focused on bringing *new* customers into your sales funnel, while the other is focused on *making* sales with the traffic you already have. Gather is positioned for merchants looking to create a robust customer-to-customer referral program, likely suited for businesses with strong customer loyalty and a desire to expand their customer base organically. LM Discount Dazzle targets merchants who already offer frequent discounts and wish to improve the visibility and management of those promotions for existing and incoming website traffic, making it easier for customers to find and utilize deals.

Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing organic growth and customer acquisition through referrals, Gather: Refer a Friend is the superior choice. Its emphasis on automation, personalized rewards, and easy-to-embed referral experiences provides a comprehensive referral program solution. It's particularly well-suited for brands with loyal customers ready to advocate for their products.
On the other hand, LM Discount Dazzle is more suitable for merchants who regularly offer discounts and want to improve the visibility and management of those promotions. If your primary goal is to enhance the shopping experience for deal-seeking customers and streamline discount management, LM Discount Dazzle might be a better fit, even though it currently only has one review. Both apps have strong 5/5 ratings, but with the low review counts, merchants should consider trialing both to assess their specific needs.
Common Questions
Which app is better for acquiring new customers?
Gather: Refer a Friend is specifically designed for customer acquisition through referral programs, whereas LM Discount Dazzle focuses on improving conversion rates for existing traffic.
Which app is easier to set up?
Both apps claim easy integration, but Gather's 'click of a button' embedding suggests a simpler initial setup compared to LM Discount Dazzle's discount label customization, which could be more time-consuming.
Can both apps be used together?
Potentially, but it would require careful planning. LM Discount Dazzle could highlight discounts on products recommended through Gather's referral program, maximizing their impact. However, this combined approach would require significant technical know-how to ensure seamless execution and might provide diminishing returns if implemented poorly.
Which app has better long-term potential?
Gather may have higher long-term potential if the merchant can build a successful referral channel that consistently delivers new customers. LM Discount Dazzle's impact is likely tied to the frequency and effectiveness of the discounts offered.
How do the apps compare in terms of customer support?
Neither description provides information on customer support. Given the low review counts for both apps, researching external reviews or contacting the developers directly is advisable to assess their support responsiveness and quality.
