Gelato: Print on Demand vs Zendrop ‑ Dropshipping & PODfor Shopify (2026)
Gelato: Print on Demand and Zendrop ‑ Dropshipping & POD both cater to Shopify merchants seeking sourcing solutions, specifically in dropshipping and print on demand (POD). However, they target slightly different niches. Gelato positions itself as a global print-on-demand fulfillment solution, emphasizing local production hubs and sustainable growth. Its core strength lies in its global network, allowing merchants to offer a wide range of custom products with faster and greener delivery options. This makes it ideal for merchants focused solely on customizable products and global reach with localized production. Zendrop, on the other hand, is a broader dropshipping platform with extensive product sourcing capabilities beyond just POD. Zendrop offers access to over 1 million products and aims to simplify the overall dropshipping process with automated fulfillment and fast shipping, particularly within the US. It aims to be a comprehensive dropshipping solution for merchants looking for a wide variety of products beyond just print-on-demand. Zendrop offers custom branding options and aims to replace platforms like Oberlo and DSers. While it also includes POD, it is a smaller aspect compared to the broad dropshipping options it provides, focusing more on automated fulfillment and broader product selection than geographically optimized production.

Our Verdict
If you are solely focused on print-on-demand and want to sell globally with faster, greener, locally produced products, Gelato is the better choice. Its focus on localized production and sustainability gives it a distinct advantage in this niche. However, if you want a more general dropshipping solution with a vast product catalog, automated fulfillment, and a strong emphasis on fast US shipping, Zendrop is the more suitable option. Consider Zendrop if your business involves dropshipping more than just POD and needs a wider selection of products.
