Geolocation & Markets—Selecty vs GeoWe: GeoLoc Redirect For SEOfor Shopify (2026)
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty and GeoWe: GeoLoc Redirect For SEO both aim to enhance the customer experience on Shopify stores by leveraging geolocation. Selecty focuses on seamless integration with Shopify Markets and Global-e Managed Markets, offering comprehensive solutions for currency, language, and market switching. It boasts a strong reputation with a perfect 5/5 rating and a substantial 262 reviews, indicating established trust and functionality. GeoWe, on the other hand, emphasizes straightforward geolocation redirects and country blocking, seemingly aimed at merchants needing more granular control over regional access and SEO. The primary difference lies in their scope and maturity. Selecty is a more established solution, particularly for merchants already utilizing Shopify Markets or Global-e. It aims to provide a full suite of tools for international expansion. GeoWe presents a more basic redirection and blocking service, which may be suitable for smaller businesses or those focusing on specific regional strategies. However, the lack of reviews and a 0/5 rating raise concerns about its reliability and user satisfaction. Both apps offer automatic redirection based on IP location, but Selecty's additional features like browser language detection and manual switching options give it a broader appeal. Furthermore, Selecty connects to multiple expansion stores, suggesting a more robust solution for large and international businesses.

Our Verdict
For established businesses already leveraging Shopify Markets or Global-e and requiring a comprehensive solution for international sales, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the clear choice. Its robust feature set, proven track record, and positive user reviews provide a significant advantage.
However, for smaller businesses or those with very specific regional targeting needs who are comfortable with a potentially less refined solution, GeoWe: GeoLoc Redirect For SEO could be considered. But, given the lack of reviews and the critical importance of geolocation functioning correctly for conversions, it's crucial to thoroughly test GeoWe before fully committing to it. Merchants should consider waiting for more reviews and user feedback to appear, validating the effectiveness of its claims. If a merchant has very low traffic and wants to simply block a country, this app could potentially fulfill that need.
