Geolocation & Markets—Selecty vs Interlingue ‑ D2C Translationfor Shopify (2026)
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty and Interlingue ‑ D2C Translation address different aspects of internationalization for Shopify merchants. Selecty focuses on geolocation-based marketing, aiming to increase global sales by automatically tailoring the customer experience based on their location. This includes displaying prices in local currencies, showing content in local languages, and recommending relevant market segments through geolocation popups and redirects. Selecty's core offering is automation and seamless market navigation for customers. Interlingue ‑ D2C Translation, on the other hand, is a translation app designed to provide comprehensive translation management for D2C stores. It emphasizes scalability and flexibility, allowing merchants to translate theme strings, bulk translate resources, and export/import translation data via CSV files. Interlingue prioritizes manual control over translation and store customization. It provides a more granular approach to translation, focusing on giving the merchant the tools to fully control the translated content of their store. Selecty is for businesses looking for automated geolocation features to boost their sales with minimal manual configurations. Interlingue is targeting merchants who need full control of their translations for a scalable D2C business and may not care as much for auto-detection features. The review counts are also dramatically different, giving merchants much more confidence in Selecty at first glance, though it's also been available longer and provides a narrower (though frequently useful) set of functionality.

Our Verdict
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is a better choice for merchants who want to automate the process of tailoring their storefront to different geographical locations and language preferences to drive global sales, particularly those already using Shopify Markets or Global-e Managed Markets. It provides immediate value by simplifying the customer experience across different markets. Interlingue ‑ D2C Translation is more appropriate for merchants who require greater control over the translation process and want to ensure the language used on their storefront accurately reflects their brand message, particularly for D2C brands that value a personalized and controlled customer journey.
For merchants seeking ease of use and quick results with automated geolocation and multi-market support, Selecty is the clear winner. However, if precise control over translation and long-term scalability of translation management are priorities, and manual effort is acceptable, Interlingue ‑ D2C Translation is a more suitable choice, assuming its limited review count is not a major deterrent.
