Geolocation & Markets—Selecty vs Product & Section Blocker AGeofor Shopify (2026)
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty and Product & Section Blocker AGeo both address geolocation needs for Shopify merchants but offer distinctly different functionalities. Selecty focuses on enhancing the customer experience and driving sales by automatically adapting the storefront based on a visitor's location. Its strength lies in making it easier for international customers to browse and purchase in their preferred language and currency. It aims to optimize the shopping experience and increase conversion rates in different markets. In contrast, Product & Section Blocker AGeo prioritizes compliance and control over product visibility. Product & Section Blocker AGeo enables merchants to restrict access to specific products, variants, or sections of their store based on the visitor's country or state. This is critical for businesses that need to adhere to varying legal regulations or regional product restrictions. It offers a more granular control over which products are visible in different regions and helps stores avoid legal issues by ensuring they're not selling restricted items where they shouldn't be. Therefore, while Selecty focuses on *enabling* global sales, AGeo focuses on *controlling* what products are sold where.
