Our Verdict
For merchants looking to expand their reach internationally and optimize the shopping experience for customers worldwide, Geolocation & Markets—Selecty is the clear choice. Its comprehensive suite of features for currency conversion, language selection, and geolocation redirects makes it a powerful tool for driving global sales. RTL King: עברית, on the other hand, is a specialized app designed solely for merchants who need to adapt their store to Hebrew. If your primary target audience is Hebrew-speaking customers, and you need RTL support and Hebrew translation, RTL King might be a suitable option, but its low rating and limited features raise concerns about its overall quality and effectiveness. However, even in that niche, it might be worth investigating other RTL and translation apps before committing.
Common Questions
Which app is better for a store selling in both the US and Israel?
Geolocation & Markets—Selecty would be the better option because it offers geolocation and currency conversion, allowing you to show prices in USD for US customers and ILS for Israeli customers. RTL King only focuses on Hebrew translation and right-to-left alignment.
Is RTL King suitable for a store with a custom theme?
RTL King claims to support all *free* Shopify themes. There's no mention of support for custom themes, so compatibility may be an issue.
Does Selecty automatically translate my product descriptions?
Selecty focuses on language selection and displaying the correct language based on geolocation. It doesn't explicitly state that it automatically translates product descriptions; you would likely need a separate translation app for that.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
RTL King claims a simple setup with 'two clicks'. While Selecty doesn't explicitly promise the same level of simplicity, its comprehensive feature set might require a more involved configuration process.
Can I use both apps simultaneously?
Potentially, but it's crucial to ensure compatibility. Using both might lead to conflicts or unexpected behavior. It's recommended to test thoroughly in a staging environment before implementing on a live store.
