Geolocation Redirects | xapps vs Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++for Shopify (2026)
Geolocation Redirects | xapps and Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ are both geolocation-focused Shopify apps, but they address very different needs. Geolocation Redirects focuses on automatically redirecting users to country-specific versions of a store, aiming to improve conversion rates by presenting the most relevant content and language. It uses Shopify's GEO location and offers customizable widgets for redirection, prioritizing SEO-friendliness. In contrast, Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ focuses on allowing customers to *manually* select their preferred currency, displaying product prices accordingly. It aims to enhance the shopping experience for international customers who prefer to browse in their local currency, while the checkout still occurs in the store's base currency. The key difference lies in their approach to geolocation. Geolocation Redirects provides an automated redirection based on location, while Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ offers currency conversion with manual selection. Geolocation Redirects is targeted towards merchants with established, localized storefronts, while Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ is best suited for merchants selling globally who want to offer a convenient shopping experience in different currencies, but maintain a single checkout process. Both apps claim ease of use and customization options, but Geolocation Redirects emphasizes SEO considerations more directly.

Our Verdict
Geolocation Redirects | xapps is the better choice for merchants who have multiple, country-specific Shopify stores and want to automatically redirect visitors to the appropriate store based on their location. Its SEO-friendly approach is crucial for maintaining search engine rankings.
Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ is better suited for merchants who operate a single global store but want to offer a convenient multi-currency browsing experience for international customers. The ability to customize the currency switcher and offer manual selection provides flexibility. However, the significantly lower number of reviews compared to Geolocation Redirects might warrant further investigation before making a decision.
Common Questions
Which app is better for SEO?
Geolocation Redirects | xapps explicitly mentions SEO benefits and disables redirects for web crawlers like Googlebot. Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ does not specifically address SEO.
Which app is easier to set up?
Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ offers app setup by the vendor, which suggests a potentially easier initial setup. Geolocation Redirects | xapps likely requires more manual configuration, especially considering the DEV mode activation for partner stores.
Which app is better for a store targeting Europe?
Geolocation Redirects | xapps would be a better choice if you have separate stores for different European countries. Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ would be beneficial if you have one store and want to display prices in various European currencies.
Which app has better support?
Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ highlights 24/7 quick support. Geolocation Redirects | xapps doesn't explicitly mention support availability in their description, so Rabbi has a stronger claim here.
Which app will slow down my site more?
Both apps implement their functionality client-side, which typically avoids server-side performance hits. However, without performance metrics, it's impossible to definitively say which app has a lower impact. However, more javascript logic is usually required for redirection, meaning GeoLocation Redirects *could* theoretically slow it down more (but this is an assumption).
Does either app handle language translation?
Geolocation Redirects | xapps mentions translations, implying it can handle language alongside redirection. Rabbi Currency Converter Pro++ focuses solely on currency conversion.
