Geolocation Redirects | xapps vs RP ProMap ‑ Store Locatorfor Shopify (2026)
Geolocation Redirects | xapps and RP ProMap - Store Locator, while both categorized under Shopify's Internationalization - Other, address fundamentally different needs. Geolocation Redirects focuses on optimizing the customer experience by automatically redirecting visitors to the appropriate country-specific store or content based on their location. Its strength lies in its SEO-friendly redirect capabilities and customizable widgets, aimed at boosting conversion rates for merchants operating in multiple international markets. In contrast, RP ProMap - Store Locator is designed to enhance the customer experience by helping them find physical store locations or stockists. It provides an interactive Google Map integration with robust features for bulk location management, customizable map design, and detailed store information. Geolocation Redirects is geared towards online merchants with international storefronts who prioritize SEO and personalized user experiences through location-based redirection. RP ProMap, conversely, is targeted at businesses with physical store locations or supplier networks who want to improve their online-to-offline conversion rates by enabling customers to easily find the nearest point of sale or service. The key difference lies in their primary function: Geolocation Redirects automatically takes users to the 'right' store, while RP ProMap helps users *find* a physical store.
