Our Verdict
For merchants who primarily rely on high-quality product images and seek to improve their presentation, GG Product Page Image Slider is the more suitable option. It will likely offer features to zoom, arrange, and potentially optimize images for faster loading times.
However, for merchants who have a library of video content (user-generated or product demos) and want to leverage the power of video marketing and shoppable video, Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story is the clear winner. Its emphasis on site speed optimization, combined with features like product tagging and real-time analytics, makes it a robust platform for driving sales through video. Vidjet's added Story and Carousel formats provide modern ways to engage customers.
Common Questions
Which app is better for improving site speed?
Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story explicitly states that it does not impact site speed, making it the better choice if site speed is a primary concern, especially when embedding large numbers of videos.
Which app is better for merchants without existing video content?
Neither app is designed for creating content. However, GG Product Page Image Slider might be the better starting point, as high-quality product photography is generally more accessible than professional-grade video. Merchants might need to invest in professional photography to make the most of GG's slider features. Vidjet requires investment in video creation.
Which app is better for driving direct sales from the visual content?
Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story is explicitly designed for direct sales. It allows merchants to tag products in videos, add coupon codes, and include CTAs, making the video content shoppable. GG Product Page Image Slider likely focuses on visual appeal rather than direct sales features.
Which app is easier to use?
While without testing it's impossible to know for sure, Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story is likely easier to use for video embedding at scale, and specifically claims to offer "bulk-embed" capabilities. GG Product Page Image Slider, while probably simple for single-product image management, doesn't emphasize bulk actions.
Which app offers better analytics?
Vidjet Shoppable Videos +Story explicitly mentions sales, engagement, and ROI tracking with real-time analytics. GG Product Page Image Slider offers no information about included analytics.
