Givz Donation Driven Marketing vs Leafledger Tree Plantingfor Shopify (2026)
Givz Donation Driven Marketing and Leafledger Tree Planting both aim to leverage social impact to enhance sales and customer loyalty on Shopify. However, they approach this goal differently. Givz focuses on flexible donation incentives integrated directly into the purchase flow, allowing merchants to donate a percentage of sales, set spending thresholds for donations, or tie donations to specific products or coupon codes. This provides granular control over how and when charitable donations are triggered, focusing on conversion rate and AOV. Leafledger, on the other hand, centers on tree planting, offering a simpler, more focused value proposition: planting trees with orders (or every 10 orders). This caters to merchants seeking to build a brand image around environmental sustainability with a clear and demonstrable impact. The primary differentiator lies in the level of customization and the target social impact. Givz offers greater flexibility in designing donation campaigns to achieve specific sales objectives, appealing to merchants prioritizing direct revenue impact with a charitable component. Leafledger presents a straightforward solution for merchants aiming to align their brand with environmental consciousness and demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainability through tree planting. Leafledger also emphasizes trust-building through verified partners (Veritree) and real-time tracking. Importantly, as of this data, Givz has a proven track record based on customer reviews, while Leafledger is still in open beta with no current customer reviews.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a versatile tool to boost sales with customizable donation incentives and a focus on AOV and conversion rate improvements, Givz Donation Driven Marketing appears to be the more mature and proven solution, supported by positive customer reviews. Its flexibility allows for integration into various marketing strategies.
However, for merchants prioritizing a clear and demonstrable commitment to environmental sustainability and building a brand image around climate action, Leafledger Tree Planting offers a simpler, more focused approach. While currently in open beta with no reviews, its emphasis on verified tree planting and impact badges could resonate strongly with environmentally conscious consumers. Consider Leafledger if your brand strongly aligns with environmentalism and you're willing to try an unproven (but potentially impactful) solution.
Common Questions
Which app is better for increasing Average Order Value (AOV)?
Givz is explicitly designed to increase AOV by offering donation incentives for reaching certain spending thresholds. While Leafledger might indirectly increase AOV by attracting environmentally conscious customers, it doesn't directly target AOV improvements with its core functionality.
Which app is easier to set up and manage?
Leafledger claims 'one-click store integration,' suggesting a potentially easier setup process. Givz's setup complexity is not explicitly stated, but its more flexible features imply a potentially steeper learning curve.
Which app is more trustworthy?
As of the data provided, Givz has customer reviews and a rating, implying a level of established trust. Leafledger is in open beta with no reviews, meaning merchants would be taking a risk trying a brand-new app. Leafledger does highlight Veritree verification, which could improve trust for merchants.
Which app is better for small businesses on a tight budget?
Leafledger's offer of 100 free trees to start is very attractive for small businesses on a limited budget. Givz doesn't offer any specific details on its pricing model, making it hard to compare. Further research into the pricing is necessary to fully assess which is better.
Which app allows for more control over the charitable cause?
Givz appears to provide more control, as it allows merchants to determine the percentage of sales donated, tie donations to specific products, and even use coupon codes in conjunction with donation incentives. Leafledger is focused exclusively on tree planting.
