Givz Donation Driven Marketing vs ThumbsUpfor Shopify (2026)
Givz Donation Driven Marketing and ThumbsUp represent vastly different approaches to enhancing a Shopify store. Givz focuses on leveraging charitable donations as a marketing tool, aiming to increase AOV, conversion rates, and customer lifetime value. It targets merchants seeking to boost sales and loyalty by appealing to socially conscious consumers. ThumbsUp, on the other hand, concentrates on improving customer engagement through product voting and feedback, providing a simple way for customers to express their preferences and for merchants to gather insights. The primary difference lies in their core functionality and target audience. Givz provides tools to incentivize purchases with donations, offering features like donation percentages on all orders or specific products. This is ideal for merchants who want to incorporate a social mission into their sales strategy. ThumbsUp is designed for merchants prioritizing direct customer feedback and engagement on product pages, allowing customers to 'Like' or 'Dislike' items. Both apps reside in the 'Upsell and bundles - Other' category, suggesting they aim to increase sales, but their methods differ significantly.

Our Verdict
For merchants aiming to increase sales and customer loyalty through charitable donations, Givz Donation Driven Marketing is the more compelling option. Its features are specifically designed to incentivize purchases and boost key metrics like AOV. The significantly higher rating and review count further support its effectiveness. However, merchants solely focused on gathering immediate customer feedback and improving product discoverability may find ThumbsUp adequate, despite its low rating, although they may wish to research alternatives.
Ultimately, Givz seems better-suited for established businesses looking to leverage social impact for increased revenue, while ThumbsUp might be a starting point for smaller stores trying to understand customer preferences, but with significant risk associated with its low rating and few reviews. Merchants should carefully consider their specific goals and priorities before making a decision. Given the data, I would cautiously recommend Givz over ThumbsUp based on its superior user ratings and focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up?
Based on the descriptions, ThumbsUp *appears* to be easier to set up as it focuses on adding simple Like/Dislike buttons, but this might not overcome the low rating. Givz requires more strategic planning to align donation incentives with marketing goals.
Which app is more effective for increasing Average Order Value (AOV)?
Givz is specifically designed to increase AOV through features like setting spend thresholds for donations.
Which app is better for a non-profit organization?
Neither app is explicitly designed for non-profits to use *as* a non-profit. Givz might be useful for a retail arm of a non-profit to incentivize purchases with donations back to the organization, but this would require more research.
Does either app require coding knowledge?
ThumbsUp explicitly states no coding is required. Givz does not mention coding requirements, implying it may also not require coding.
How can I test which app works best for my store?
Ideally, a robust A/B test would be performed. However, the low review count and ratings of ThumbsUp make such a test risky. It's best to thoroughly research ThumbsUp alternatives before investing time and effort into testing it.
