Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing rapid audience growth, user-generated content, and viral marketing campaigns through contests and giveaways, Gleam Competitions is a strong choice. Its focused approach allows for dedicated campaigns designed to attract new leads and create excitement around products. However, for businesses looking for a comprehensive email and SMS marketing solution with robust automation capabilities, pre-made templates, and AI-powered assistance, Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS provides a broader range of tools for nurturing customer relationships and driving sales through personalized communication. Omnisend is the better option for merchants who need a platform that can handle both email list growth and targeted email/SMS campaign management at scale.
While Gleam offers features that can contribute to list growth, its primary focus isn't on traditional email marketing strategies. Therefore, if your store already has an email base, and you're looking to nurture and convert those leads, or drive targeted traffic via SMS campaigns, Omnisend is likely a better fit. But if you are looking to *acquire* new leads specifically using games and incentives, Gleam Competitions is better.
Common Questions
Which app is better for growing my email list?
Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS provides a broader suite of tools for email list growth, including popups, landing pages, and spin-to-win forms. Gleam Competitions focuses on collecting emails through contest entries, which can be effective for targeted campaigns but less versatile than Omnisend's offerings.
Which app is easier to use for a beginner?
Both apps aim for user-friendliness, but Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS offers ready-made email marketing templates and AI-powered content creation, making it arguably more accessible for beginners who may lack design or copywriting experience.
Which app provides better automation capabilities?
Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS offers more comprehensive automation features, including abandoned cart workflows, welcome series, and browse abandonment campaigns. Gleam Competitions offers post-giveaway sales funnels but lacks the depth of Omnisend's automation capabilities.
Which app is more cost-effective for small businesses?
The cost-effectiveness of each app depends on the specific needs and usage patterns of the business. Both apps may offer free plans or trials with limited features, and pricing scales based on usage. Reviewing each app's pricing structure and comparing it against your business's requirements is essential.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, it is possible to use both apps together. You could use Gleam Competitions to drive initial user engagement and email list growth, then use Omnisend Email Marketing & SMS to nurture those leads and convert them into customers through targeted email and SMS campaigns. A strategic integration may maximize the benefits of both platforms.
