Global Blue Tax Free vs Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generatorfor Shopify (2026)
Global Blue Tax Free and Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator, while both falling under the 'Finances' and 'Taxes' categories on Shopify, serve distinctly different purposes and target vastly different merchant segments. Global Blue Tax Free aims to integrate Shopify stores with the Global Blue platform, enabling the generation of tax-free vouchers for international customers. Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator, on the other hand, focuses on automating and customizing the creation of PDF invoices, streamlining accounting and order management processes. The most glaring difference between the two is their customer reception. Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator boasts a perfect 5/5 rating with 105 reviews, indicating strong user satisfaction. The features also point to drastically different value propositions: Global Blue focuses on Global Blue users generating Tax Free tickets, whereas Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is more focused on document generation.

Our Verdict
Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is the clear choice for the vast majority of Shopify merchants needing a robust and well-regarded solution for generating PDF invoices. Its high rating and numerous positive reviews inspire confidence in its functionality and user experience. It is a generally useful tool for all Shopify stores, while Global Blue Tax Free is highly specific to a particular business need: tax free voucher generation for merchants who use Global Blue.
Global Blue Tax Free should only be considered by merchants specifically targeting international shoppers already familiar with the Global Blue platform and offering tax-free shopping. However, the extremely low rating and lack of reviews warrant extreme caution. A thorough investigation of the app's functionality and potential issues is strongly recommended before implementation. It is crucial to assess whether the benefits of offering Global Blue tax-free vouchers outweigh the potential risks associated with a poorly rated app.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Based on the ratings and reviews, Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator is likely much easier to set up and use than Global Blue Tax Free. The low rating of Global Blue suggests potential usability issues.
Which app offers better customer support?
The high rating of Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator suggests that they offer better customer support than Global Blue Tax Free, whose low rating could be due to poor support experiences.
Is Global Blue Tax Free a good option for all stores wanting to offer tax free options?
No. Global Blue Tax Free is intended only for merchants that use the Global Blue platform. There are other tax free apps that provide this to any store.
Which app is more likely to slow down my store?
Without performance metrics, it's impossible to say definitively. However, given the low rating of Global Blue Tax Free, there's a higher likelihood of it containing poorly optimized code that could negatively impact store performance. Oxilayer's rating suggests stable code.
If I have international customers, which app is more important?
It depends on your business model. If you specifically cater to international travelers and already use the Global Blue system, Global Blue Tax Free *might* be relevant, but only after careful investigation of the app's issues. Oxilayer PDF Invoice Generator can still be useful for managing invoices for international customers, regardless of tax-free considerations, and the app is clearly more reliable.
