GM Delete Bulk Delete Products vs Merges AI ‑ Merge Productsfor Shopify (2026)
GM Delete Bulk Delete Products and Merges AI ‑ Merge Products, while both categorized as 'Bulk editor' apps on Shopify, address fundamentally different inventory management needs. GM Delete is focused on streamlining the removal of unwanted products, providing merchants with a means to efficiently purge their catalog based on various criteria. Its strength lies in its filtering capabilities and ease of use for removing products. On the other hand, Merges AI tackles the challenge of product redundancy and complexity by enabling merchants to consolidate multiple product listings into a single, unified product with variants. Merges AI leverages AI to assist with variant creation, description unification, and image organization, providing a significant time-saving solution. Its key benefit is simplifying product management and preserving SEO value during the merge process. GM Delete is best suited for stores needing to regularly prune outdated or irrelevant product lines. Merges AI targets merchants struggling with disorganized catalogs and redundant product listings, often resulting from importing products from different sources or managing variations across multiple listings. Therefore their approaches and targeted merchants are different even though both work with products in bulk.

Our Verdict
For merchants struggling with disorganized catalogs and duplicated listings, particularly those dealing with numerous product variations, Merges AI is the clear winner. Its AI-powered merging capabilities provide a significant advantage in streamlining product management and preserving SEO. The higher number of reviews also suggests a more established user base and proven reliability.
However, if the primary need is simply to remove outdated or unwanted products based on specific criteria like tags or vendors, GM Delete Bulk Delete Products offers a straightforward and focused solution. While it has fewer reviews, its targeted functionality might be sufficient for merchants with simpler inventory management needs where the focus is purely on deletion.
Common Questions
Which app is better for general product management?
Neither app is a complete general product management tool. GM Delete focuses solely on deletion, while Merges AI focuses on consolidation. A broader inventory management solution may be needed in addition to either of these apps.
Can GM Delete help me merge products?
No, GM Delete Bulk Delete Products focuses solely on deleting products based on filter criteria. It does not have any product merging capabilities.
Can Merges AI delete products?
While Merges AI's primary function is merging, the result of merging redundant listings might indirectly lead to the 'deletion' of the source products after they are incorporated into the unified product. However, it isn't its primary deletion feature.
Which app is easier to use?
GM Delete is likely easier to use for basic product deletion tasks due to its simple interface and targeted functionality. Merges AI, while powerful, requires understanding of product variations and may have a steeper learning curve initially, although the AI aims to simplify the variant selection and merging process.
Which app is better for preserving SEO?
Merges AI explicitly states that it preserves SEO by redirecting old product links to the new, merged product page. GM Delete, by deleting products, will negatively impact the SEO of the deleted products, unless proper redirects are implemented separately.
