GoGenerosity ‑ Donations vs Omni Donation & Charityfor Shopify (2026)
GoGenerosity - Donations and Omni Donation & Charity are both Shopify apps designed to enable merchants to integrate charitable donations into their online stores. GoGenerosity emphasizes a closed-loop system focusing on converting donations into gift cards for the partner charity, driving revenue back to the store. Alternatively, it allows direct donations to the charity with a real-time impact calculator. Omni Donation & Charity focuses on wider donation options including tree planting and carbon offsetting and provides a more flexible placement of donation widgets throughout the customer journey, including post-purchase opportunities. The key difference lies in their approach to how donations are utilized. GoGenerosity strongly promotes a 'donation-to-gift-card' revenue model, potentially appealing to merchants seeking a direct business benefit alongside charitable giving. Omni Donation & Charity provides a wider scope of donation causes and placement flexibility, making it suitable for merchants aiming to integrate charitable giving throughout the customer experience and support diverse causes. While both have perfect ratings, GoGenerosity has a larger review base, suggesting wider adoption or a longer market presence.

Our Verdict
For merchants seeking a direct, measurable impact on their revenue through charitable giving, GoGenerosity - Donations is a potentially better choice. The gift card conversion model offers a unique approach that directly links donations to sales. The 'real time impact' calculator also provides transparency.
However, if the primary goal is to integrate diverse charitable giving options seamlessly across the entire customer journey, including post-purchase opportunities, Omni Donation & Charity is more suitable. Its ability to support tree planting, plastic offsetting, and carbon offsetting allows merchants to align with a broader range of social and environmental causes and provide a more flexible charitable experience for their customers.
Common Questions

Which app is better for building customer loyalty?
