Our Verdict
For merchants prioritizing boosting revenue and having control over charity selection, potentially converting donations into store credit, GoGenerosity - Donations appears to be the stronger option, especially given its existing positive reviews. Its "real-time impact" calculator and global support are also significant advantages. However, for merchants who wish to directly donate products from their inventory to meet the specific needs of US-based charities, and who value fostering customer loyalty through product-based giving, Shortage offers a unique approach. That being said, the lack of reviews for Shortage makes it difficult to assess its reliability and ease of implementation. Given the data available in 2026, GoGenerosity appears to be the safer, more proven choice.
