Our Verdict
For merchants heavily reliant on Google Ads and Analytics, and who require full GDPR compliance, including the ability to communicate consent status to Google, Google Consent Mode V2 appears to be the more suitable choice, despite the lack of initial reviews. The deeper integration with Google Consent Mode and the more comprehensive feature set offer a more robust solution. However, merchants should proceed with caution given the absence of reviews and thoroughly test the app before fully implementing it.
On the other hand, if a merchant simply needs a quick and easy-to-implement cookie consent banner without complex integrations or cookie management features, Scala GDPR EU Cookie Banner is the better option. Its simplicity and privacy-focused approach make it ideal for merchants prioritizing ease of use and minimal intrusiveness. The positive reviews, though limited in number, indicate a reliable and functional solution for basic cookie consent needs.
