Google Reviews & Social Proof focuses on enhancing a Shopify store's credibility and SEO by aggregating and displaying social proof elements like Google Reviews, social media feeds (TikTok, Facebook, YouTube), and product reviews. Our Verdict
If a merchant's priority is building trust, showcasing social proof, and automatically updating reviews and social media feeds, then Google Reviews & Social Proof is the better choice. This is particularly relevant for stores selling products where reviews heavily influence purchasing decisions.
However, if a merchant is struggling with slow site loading times due to large images and wants to improve their store's SEO performance through image optimization, then SEO Speed Image Optimizer is the more suitable option. Stores with large image catalogues, such as clothing or furniture retailers, will likely benefit most from this app. While Google Reviews provides layouts for showing the feed and reviews, you'd still want your product images optimized by the SEO Speed Image Optimizer so customers can see them quickly.
