Grapevine Post Purchase Survey vs Rewind Backupsfor Shopify (2026)
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey and Rewind Backups, while both listed in the 'Operations' category on Shopify, address fundamentally different aspects of running an online store. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey focuses on gathering customer insights through various survey types (post-purchase, NPS, CSAT, etc.) with the aim of improving marketing, customer experience, and identifying trends. Its strength lies in its 'unlimited responses' model, advanced targeting, and integrations with tools like Klaviyo and GA4, targeting merchants who prioritize data-driven decision making and customer understanding. Rewind Backups, on the other hand, centers around data security and disaster recovery. It automates the backup of critical store data (products, themes, customer data) and allows for one-click restoration in case of errors, app malfunctions, or accidental data loss. The Rewind Protection Suite further enhances its value by offering downtime monitoring and QA testing. This positions Rewind Backups as an essential tool for any merchant, especially those handling large inventories or sensitive customer information, seeking to minimize risk and ensure business continuity. The key difference is that Grapevine is about generating new insights, while Rewind is about preventing loss of existing information.

Our Verdict
Choosing between Grapevine Post Purchase Survey and Rewind Backups depends entirely on the merchant's priorities. If the primary goal is to understand customer sentiment, improve marketing ROI, and refine the customer experience through detailed feedback, then Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is the clear choice, particularly given its 'unlimited responses' model which makes it cost-effective for high-volume stores. The integrations with Klaviyo and GA4 are crucial here.
However, for merchants who prioritize data security, business continuity, and minimizing the risk of data loss, Rewind Backups is indispensable. Regardless of the size or focus of the business, the potential cost of data loss far outweighs the investment in a reliable backup solution. Rewind Backups, with its automated backups and one-click restore functionality, offers a level of protection that's difficult to replicate manually, making it essential for operational stability. If forced to choose only one, most merchants should select Rewind Backups, as security comes first.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to set up and use?
Rewind Backups is likely easier to set up and use, as it's designed for non-technical users with a focus on one-click restore functionality. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey, while potentially user-friendly, involves configuring surveys, analyzing data, and integrating with other platforms, which requires more analytical effort.
Which app provides a better return on investment?
The ROI depends on the merchant's needs. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey offers a potentially high ROI for businesses that actively use survey data to improve marketing and customer experience. Rewind Backups provides a less tangible but arguably more critical ROI by preventing potentially catastrophic data loss, which can save significant time, money, and reputation.
Do these apps compete with each other?
No, these apps address different needs and do not directly compete. Grapevine Post Purchase Survey focuses on customer insights, while Rewind Backups focuses on data security. They can be used together to improve both customer understanding and operational resilience.
Which app is better for a small business?
While both apps can be beneficial, Rewind Backups is arguably more crucial for a small business. Data loss can be particularly devastating for smaller operations, making a reliable backup solution a top priority. Small businesses can benefit from Grapevine Post Purchase Survey if they have a strong focus on customer feedback and marketing optimization, but security is foundational.
How do their integrations differ?
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey integrates with marketing and analytics platforms like Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, GA4, and Google Sheets, enabling the flow of survey data into these systems for analysis and automation. Rewind Backups focuses on protecting data within Shopify itself and integrates with other Shopify apps, but it doesn't explicitly mention integrations for exporting backup data to external analytics or marketing platforms.
