Grapevine Post Purchase Survey vs TP: True Profit Analyticsfor Shopify (2026)
Grapevine Post Purchase Survey and TP: True Profit Analytics, while both falling under the 'Operations' and 'Analytics' categories on Shopify, cater to distinct merchant needs. Grapevine focuses on gathering customer feedback through surveys to improve CX and marketing decisions. It shines in collecting qualitative data via post-purchase, on-site, and email surveys, integrating this feedback with marketing and analytics platforms like Klaviyo and GA4 to understand customer journeys and attribute sales to specific marketing channels. Its key advantage is unlimited survey responses at a fixed price, making it attractive for businesses with high transaction volumes seeking scalable customer insights. TP: True Profit Analytics, on the other hand, is a quantitative analytics platform centered around accurately tracking and reporting on net profit. It focuses on providing merchants with a clear picture of their financial health by automatically tracking costs (COGS, shipping, fees, etc.) and ad spend across various platforms (Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.). True Profit aims to eliminate manual spreadsheet calculations and provide real-time profit dashboards, product-level analytics, and customer lifetime value (LTV) reporting. It's a more comprehensive financial analytics solution, ideal for merchants seeking to optimize profitability and make data-driven financial decisions.

Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants primarily focused on gathering customer feedback to improve their customer experience, optimize marketing campaigns, and understand customer journeys, Grapevine Post Purchase Survey is the superior choice. Its unlimited responses offer scalability, and the integration with tools like Klaviyo and GA4 is valuable for deeper analysis.
However, if a merchant's primary need is to understand and improve their financial performance through accurate profit tracking, cost analysis, and LTV calculation, then TP: True Profit Analytics is the better option. Its comprehensive financial dashboard and automated cost tracking provide a clearer picture of profitability, empowering data-driven financial decisions. While Grapevine could indirectly impact profits through improved CX, True Profit directly targets profitability and financial management.
Common Questions
Which app is better for understanding customer loyalty?
Grapevine is likely better for understanding customer loyalty through NPS surveys and gathering feedback on customer satisfaction. TP focuses on Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), a quantitative measure, but doesn't directly capture qualitative feedback on loyalty.
Which app is easier to set up and use?
While difficult to determine definitively, TP likely requires less active management after initial setup, as it automatically tracks and calculates financial data. Grapevine requires designing surveys, analyzing responses, and integrating with other platforms to derive insights, suggesting a steeper initial learning curve and more ongoing effort.
Can I use both apps together?
Yes, the apps complement each other. Grapevine provides qualitative insights from surveys, while TP provides quantitative financial analysis. Using both gives a more complete picture of the business.
Which app is more suitable for a high-volume store?
Grapevine is specifically designed for high-volume stores with its unlimited survey responses at a fixed price. TP's value is not necessarily tied to transaction volume but more to the complexity of cost tracking and the need for accurate profit reporting.
Does Grapevine Post Purchase Survey directly track profits?
No, Grapevine does not directly track profits. It helps improve CX and optimize marketing, which can indirectly impact profits, but it doesn't provide profit analytics. TP: True Profit Analytics is designed for profit tracking.
