GrootApps ‑ Back in stock vs REZ Back In Stock Notify Mefor Shopify (2026)
GrootApps ‑ Back in stock and REZ Back In Stock Notify Me both aim to help Shopify merchants manage out-of-stock situations, but they cater to slightly different needs and stages of business. REZ Back In Stock Notify Me is a more feature-rich solution, extending beyond simple back-in-stock notifications to include pre-orders, backorders with partial payments, and detailed analytics. Its positioning emphasizes generating revenue early through pre-sales. GrootApps, while also offering back-in-stock alerts, currently has very limited data (one review), making a direct feature-by-feature comparison challenging beyond the core stock alert function. REZ seems geared toward merchants looking for a comprehensive pre-order and backorder management system, while GrootApps' focus is unclear due to a lack of information. The difference lies in the feature set, target audience sophistication, and available social proof.

Our Verdict
Given the available data, REZ Back In Stock Notify Me appears to be the stronger choice for merchants who need a robust solution for managing pre-orders and backorders, particularly those who want to collect partial payments and analyze demand. It's well-suited for businesses looking to maximize revenue during out-of-stock periods. GrootApps ‑ Back in stock, while rated well, lacks sufficient data to make a confident recommendation. It might be suitable for merchants needing a very basic, simple back-in-stock notification system and prioritizing absolute ease of use. However, the limited reviews make it difficult to gauge reliability and support quality compared to REZ. Cautious merchants may wait for more GrootApps reviews before considering it.
Common Questions
Which app is easier to use?
Without more information on GrootApps, it's impossible to say definitively. However, based on the feature set, GrootApps is likely simpler due to its potentially more limited functionality, making it easier to set up and manage. REZ, with its pre-order and analytics features, may require more time and effort to configure but offer a more powerful system in the long run.
Which app is better for collecting pre-orders?
REZ Back In Stock Notify Me is explicitly designed to handle pre-orders, backorders, and even partial payments. GrootApps does not appear to offer pre-order functionality based on available information.
How do I know which app is more reliable?
The number of reviews is a good indicator of reliability. REZ has significantly more reviews (44) than GrootApps (1), suggesting it's been used and tested by more merchants. More reviews typically allow more reliable judgments about app functionality and support.
Which app provides more advanced features?
REZ Back In Stock Notify Me offers a wider range of features, including pre-order management, partial payments, analytics, and customization options. GrootApps appears focused solely on back-in-stock notifications.
Which app is the better choice for a new Shopify store?
If a new store needs simple back-in-stock notifications and values potential ease-of-use, GrootApps might be a starting point, *but* the limited reviews present a risk. REZ could be beneficial for new stores aiming to capture early revenue with pre-orders, assuming they are comfortable with a potentially steeper learning curve for the more complex features. A store should carefully assess their immediate needs before deciding.
