GrootApps ‑ Custom Metafields focuses on enabling diverse functionality through metafields, emphasizing features like repeater fields and global configuration. Its target audience appears to be merchants who want to significantly expand their store's capabilities through custom data and need advanced configuration options. Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants needing to create complex metafield structures, especially those involving repeating fields or global configurations, GrootApps ‑ Custom Metafields appears to be the better choice. However, the low review count should be considered. Conversely, if a merchant prioritizes ease of use, efficient organization of metafields using predefined groups, and simplified workflow, Metafield Supreme seems more suitable. The "better object search functionality" could be significant for large stores with many products. Ultimately, the low number of reviews for both apps suggests further research and possibly contacting the developers directly to clarify specific feature implementations is advised before making a decision. If a merchant needs a quick and easy solution to manage a smaller set of Metafields, Metafield Supreme may be a good choice.
