Our Verdict
For merchants needing to add custom data to their products, collections, customers, or other store elements, GrootApps ‑ Custom Metafields is the clear choice. Its functionality allows for a wide range of customizations and data management options, making it suitable for businesses looking to extend the standard Shopify data model. However, for merchants primarily concerned with customizing the visual appearance of their store, specifically the fonts, and using themes such as Horizon, Heritage, Atelier, Vessel, Fabric, or Pitch, then Purchase Options is the better option. The lack of reviews for Purchase Options warrants caution, despite its targeted functionality.
