Our Verdict
For Shopify merchants without existing ERP systems or those simply looking to add custom data fields to enhance their Shopify store's functionality, GrootApps ‑ Custom Metafields appears to be the more suitable option. Its flexibility and Shopify-native design provide a more accessible entry point. However, for businesses heavily reliant on Sage ERP, Sage Fields By Commercient is a strategic choice for maintaining data consistency and reducing manual data entry. The lack of reviews for Sage Fields presents a higher risk, but the potential benefits of ERP integration for relevant businesses could outweigh that risk, especially if the business already has integration experience or resources.
