GWA: Hreflang Manager vs Redirect Hero ‑ Fix 404 linksfor Shopify (2026)
Both GWA: Hreflang Manager and Redirect Hero - Fix 404 links are Shopify apps categorized under SEO, aiming to improve store visibility and user experience. However, they address distinct areas within SEO. GWA: Hreflang Manager focuses on implementing hreflang tags, vital for multilingual stores targeting different geographic regions. It helps search engines understand which language and region a page is intended for, improving international SEO. Redirect Hero, on the other hand, concentrates on identifying and fixing broken links (404 errors). Our Verdict
Redirect Hero ‑ Fix 404 links appears to be the more broadly useful app for the average Shopify merchant in 2026. Given its higher number of reviews and perfect rating, it addresses a common SEO concern: broken links. All Shopify stores will benefit from a 404 redirect strategy.
GWA: Hreflang Manager is essential only for Shopify stores operating in multiple languages or targeting different regions. While the 4.8 rating is respectable, the small number of reviews suggests it caters to a more niche audience. If you run a multilingual store, GWA: Hreflang Manager is a must-have; otherwise, Redirect Hero is the better choice.
