Helium Customer Fields vs Locksmithfor Shopify (2026)
Helium Customer Fields and Locksmith both operate within the 'Accounts and login' category on the Shopify app store, but they likely serve different needs. Helium Customer Fields, boasting a higher rating of 4.9/5 from 225 reviews, seemingly emphasizes a user-friendly approach to extending customer profile data. This suggests a focus on gathering and utilizing customer information for personalization and targeted marketing. It's a general audience app. Locksmith, rated 4.7/5 with a larger pool of 293 reviews, potentially leans toward access control and personalization strategies contingent on customer segments. Locksmith's higher review count indicates a wider user base and potentially a longer history on the Shopify platform. Helium Customer Fields, with its superior rating, may be newer or focuses heavily on customer satisfaction and ease of use. While both apps likely enhance the customer experience, they appear to address different aspects: Helium focuses on customer information management, while Locksmith is geared towards control and targeted content based on customer attributes. Therefore, merchants need to consider what their core objective is to determine which app is best for them. Locksmith seems to offer greater flexibility, while Helium Customer Fields is likely much easier to set up and maintain, especially for less technical merchants. The core difference lies in their focus: customer data enrichment versus customer access control and personalization. If a merchant primarily needs advanced customer segmentation based on customized rules and preferences, Locksmith appears to be a better option. However, if the primary goal is ease of capturing custom customer data to improve personalization, Helium Customer Fields likely is the stronger option.
